ShrimpFest:
A Tradition of Tastes
History of ShrimpFest: A Beloved Brinnon Tradition
Since its humble beginnings in 1993, the Brinnon Shrimp Festival has brought the community together for a one-of-a-kind celebration of food, fun, and giving back. What began as a small hometown gathering featuring a keg, shrimp, and the legendary belt sander races has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated annual traditions, welcoming visitors from across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Over the years, ShrimpFest has evolved and moved to different locations throughout Brinnon to meet growing demand, but it has always stayed true to its roots: celebrating community, showcasing local spirit, and supporting worthwhile causes.
ShrimpFest 2026
This year, ShrimpFest returns on Saturday, June 20, 2026 as a free, one-day community event in the heart of Brinnon. With summer kicking off and the Hood Canal at its best, guests can expect an energetic atmosphere, great crowds, and an unforgettable day on the Olympic Peninsula.
Returning favorites include:
Beer garden
Live music and entertainment

Hood Canal inspired eats and food trucks
Local vendors and artisans
Fresh Hood Canal spot shrimp sales
And this year, we’re continuing to build an even bigger experience with expanded food offerings, family activities, and new festival attractions.
